About IRONpro Water Treatment
The OXI System and the IRONpro system remove undesirable compounds from groundwater. Anything that can be oxidized — primarily iron, manganese, and hydrogen sulfide — is easily handled by our systems. This means that you can use relatively cheap groundwater drawn up through a well, regardless of its initial quality and contaminant level. The OXI System is exclusively residential, while the IRONpro system is for agricultural and business use.
These patented systems use pressurized air injection. Oxygen introduced by this pressurized air injection interacts with dissolved sulphur and iron compounds, forming insoluble compounds the precipitate out of the water. These sulphur and iron compounds are filtered out by the media bed, which contains a dense mineral substance twice as heavy as sand.
One difference between the IRONpro and competing systems is that IRONpro media beds never wear out or get used up (as is the case with carbon filters). Some material is lost in the backwash process, so it will need to be replenished every four to five years. IRONpro technicians monitor this for all customers.
